Then with Frank Dilane mysteriously deciding he wanted off the show to "pursue other things" supposedly, it left a HUGE rift in the show & fandom with the devastating loss of Nick, a FAN FAVORITE for a LONG time. We thought that the season would be about Alicia, Madison and the rest not only dealing with the current threat at hand, but also Nick's death and finding a way to resolve conflict without the answer being violence 100% of the time. But oh wow were we wrong. In all honesty, I was pretty disappointed with this episode as a FINALE. Maybe as a mid-season finale/Premiere or as a Season premiere or even the episode prior to a finale would have been alright. But as a finale? HECK NO! I was beyond furious with the "Filthy woman" and her plot. It was fell SO flat for me. I am usually someone that tries my best to defend this show's universe and both shows that I love very much, but based on not only my immediate reactions to the episode but the majority of the fan base as well, they have a LOT of damage control to do. I really did enjoy the additions of Althea, John Dorie, June, Charlie and now Wendell & Sarah. I hope they build more on them next season. There is a ton of cool ideas they could put to use regarding Al's tapes or the place they left the season off at but I will wait and see when they release a trailer for it next year. My thoughts going into this finale were that by the end of the episode or the end of the season or half season we will be having Morgan & Al take whoever is left standing from our group over to Virginia. That clearly didn't happen and I was really shocked by that. The build up for the ENTIRE season was to do that, then they essentially left us with blue balls. I feel the best thing with the state of both shows at the moment would be to merge them into 1 because the audience for both is taking heavy hits and bringing them together may be the best chance to save The Walking Dead universe in it's entirety. Overall, this finale really did fall flat and short for me, and I'm hoping they bring their A game next season. I have NOTHING against the actors and actresses, they played their roles incredibly well, it's just that the material they were given to work with, likely from someone that the fandom has grown to REALLY dislike, and even hate in some cases. So I can't fault them for that. I hate criticizing their work that I know they've been working INCREDIBLY HARD on but I just have to be honest about it so they can hopefully make the necessary changes to have a MUCH better season 5.
